This is called a Good Faith Estimate (GFE).
You have the right to:
-
Receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
This includes related costs like medical exams, therapy services, lab tests, and medication management. -
Request a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your appointment or at any time.
-
Receive a new estimate if your treatment plan changes.
If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute the bill.
